Intro

This is my new blog project. I'm not going to advertise it on my facebook or twitter, so if you're cyber-stalking me and you stumbled across this blog, congratulations. You now get to hear me rant about movies.

I'm going to blog my way through the IMDB Top 250. There will be no set schedule for this blog. It will drop when I have time to watch a movie and then write up a piece of criticism. I will attempt to engage in real criticism, pulling from Film Theory, Popular Culture Theory, etc. However, sometimes I may just want to either geek out or rage post, so don't hold me to it for every entry. This blog is more about my own edification than that of an audience.

I'm going to work my way through the list as it stands today, on December 6, 2015. It is probable that films will enter/exit the list over the course of the blog (for example, The Force Awakens will be released in the next two weeks, and will certainly find its way into the top 250, unless it's a Phantom Menace level bomb). I will review the top 250 once my project has concluded and then write reviews for any films that have made their way up the list in that time. Once that is completed, I will likely move on to the AFI 100 Movies, or maybe work my way through every Best Picture winner. But that decision can wait.

The reviews begin with The Shawshank Redemption (1994). I should have it up before the end of the week. Until then, keep not reading my blog, non-existent readers!
